Hiroshima Peace Memorial Worlds first Atomic Bomb attack

The 2010 Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony commemorated the 65th Anniversaryof the worlds first atomic bomb attack.

The peace ceremony was attended by the United Nations Secretary General and official representatives of the USA, Britain and France for the first time.

A peace toll sounded at 8:15 AM to mark the minute the first atomic bomb was unleashed on mankind at Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 where 150,000 people lost their lives.

I never heard the Japanese government apologize for the bombing of Pearl Harbor or their war crimes against humanity.

” Little Boy ” the 4.5 ton uranium bomb detonated over Hiroshima within 45 seconds after being dropped from the B-29 Enola Gay.

And the atomic reaction caused a blinding flash and a fireball hot enough to vaporize every human within a one mile (1.6 kilometre) radius.

Japan surrendered on August 15, 1945 ending the war in the Pacific after years of ferocious combat.

1,000 white doves were released in a symbolic gesture for peace at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and a hope for the goal of nuclear disarmament.

” For the sake of future generations we must continue to work together to realize a world without nuclear weapons.” – US Ambassador to Japan, John Roos
