What happened in Fukushima last March was really heartbreaking. I was not in Japan then and I didn’t heard about the news until one of my Aunt called me to ask if I am okey. I was in the mall shopping with my daughter. I was shocked. The first thing that I did was to call my husband and friends. But all phone lines was not working at that time. I can not do anything, I was helpless. I can not describe the feeling of not being able to reach the people that matter to me most. There was nothing that I can do but watch the news. It was heartbreaking, I was crying.

Later that night at around 12MN Japan time. The phone started working again somehow, my husband was able to call me to inform that he is fine and I dont need to worry. All trains stopped working he said. He had to walk home from office. It took him almost 3 hours to reach home.

Though the phone lines are busy. It was also a blessing that internet was working. My friend updated their facebook status. That’s how I learned that they are all safe.

I am very thankful to God for keeping my husband and my friends safe.

And praying still to help the city of Miyagi recover, for the problems in fukushima be solved as soon as possible.

And I thought this before the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crises hit Japan.
