Rupert Murdoch News Group Newspapers £10,000,000 Settlement Phone Hacking Scandal

Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers, News of the World has paid an estimated £10,000,000 in settlements, attorney fees and costs to make their notorious phone hacking scandal go away.

A high court judge determined from the confidential court papers detailing the cover-up allegations made by hacking victims against NGN News Group Newspapers executives and directors.

Charges included that the company put out public statements that it knew to be false, that it had deliberately deceived the police and had destroyed computers, evidence of wrongdoing and the deletion of a substantial number of emails.

Actor Jude Law was believed to have received the largest damages settlement of £130,000. It appears again that the attorneys were the big cash winners.

Jude Law was truly appalled being kept under constant surveillance for years.

“ No aspect of my private life was safe from intrusion by News Group Newspapers, including the lives of my children and the people who work for me.

It was not just that my phone messages were listened to. News Group also paid people to watch me and my house for days at a time and to follow me and those close to me.” – Jude Law
