Fong Fei Fei 鳳飛飛 Taiwan Pop Legend Dead at 58

Fong Fei Fei one of Taiwan’s most well known pop divas in the 1970s and 1980s is dead from lung cancer at the age of 58.

The family and attorney of Fong Fei Fei announced at a news conference on Feb. 13 that the Mandarin pop legend had died on Jan. 13 in Hong Kong.

News was delayed until after the Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year festivities. Fong Fei Fei dead at 58.

SNSD K-pop group Girls’ Generation Arrival in New York City

K-pop group, 소녀시대  Girls’ Generation, Korean band’s American debut in USA on CBS television Late Show with David Letterman tv show in New York.

Letterman will need a Top Nine list tonight for the 9 girl Korea pop band from Seoul. Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Jessica,  Seohyun, Sunny, Tiffany, Yoona, Yuri and Sooyoung are Girls’ Generation.

Girls’ Generation is a nine-member South Korean pop girl group formed in 2007. They are also referred to as SoShi, 소시 or SNSD by their fans in Korea.

Girls’ Generation is currently the top Korean girl band and the group has released three Korean full albums, 3 mini-albums, 1 Japanese full album and various singles.

Their 2009 hit single Gee holds the record for being the longest running #1 song on KBS Music Bank for 9 consecutive weeks.

Apple boss Steve Jobs says the hybrid iPod/iPhone device will be able to store about 100 songs and play them out randomly like the iPod Shuffle.

Developed by Motorola for Apple the Rokr will first be available on the network of US mobile operator Cingular.
