Kanye West to Pick Up where Steve Jobs Left Off

Kanye West plans to pick up where Steve Jobs left off, through his ambitious new design project, with a keen interest in reforming education.

Is Kanye West the greatest tweeter? http://twitter.com/#!/kanyewest

After a 3 hour, 70 tweet twitter rant, Mr. West suggested that through his new design company DONDA, he will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce their dreams and ideas.

Named after his late mother, DONDA will encompass 22 divisions with a goal to make products and experiences that people want and can afford.

@kanyewest  said  “ Being a celebrity has afforded me many opportunities but has also boxed me in creatively. I care about people who have never heard of me… There are over 7 billion people on the planet now. Schools should be designed to prep human beings for real life. What good is fame and prestige if you can’t use it to help people… I want to help by doing what I know how to do best … create.”

The King of all media is assembling a team of architects, graphic designers, directors, musicians, producers, writers, publicists, social media experts, app guys, managers, car designers, clothing designers, DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionists, doctors, scientists and educators for this ambitious project.

Kanye said he hopes to use his influence to positively change the world through design and to pick up where Steve Jobs left off.

“ My area of expertise is in music, my passion is in design, my strength is in connectivity. There are so many broken systems from the economy to school to jail. We need experts for this – amazing creatives – to directly affect governments. I sit everyday and ask what can I do to make a difference.” – Kanye West

Va Tech beats itself then robbed by official in Sugar Bowl

Va Tech was twice as good as Michigan in last nights Sugar Bowl. Twice as many first downs, twice as many total yards, twice as many touchdown chances.

And of course twice as many missed opportunities, field goals and mistakes, none more crucial than an inexplicable fake punt late in the 4th quarter.

Yet after all the comedy of errors in regulation time, just when victory was in reach with a certain touchdown catch and reception in overtime, the replay official unbelievably robbed Virginia Tech of the 2012 Sugar Bowl.

There was no doubt WR Danny Coale maintained control 100% throughout the entire winning catch in the endzone.

Sometimes the best team doesn’t win on the scoreboard. Congrats Michigan Wolverines, you played the system.

The horror for the fans of Virginia Tech University. The horror for the bettors in Las Vegas on the wrong side of a half point. The horror.

Skype IPO $100 Million ADR initial public offering

Luxembourg based Skype, the Internet phone / video phone heavyweight, has filed papers with the [SEC] Securities and Exchange Commission for a $100 million [ADR] American Depository shares [IPO] initial public offering on the NASDAQ Global Market.

It is not known precisely when the shares will be available or at what price.

Skype said the IPO is an opportunity to achieve significant global scale and user growth that may allow the pioneering internet phone company to break the $1 billion mark in revenue by 2011.

Advertising on Skype or charging a modest fee for the video feature would boost revenue dramatically.

In 2010 Skype has more than $400 million in sales from only 8 million paying users out of its 560 million total users who use the real time internet video communication service online.

Skype’s P2P telephony allows users to connect with other users online to make free telephone calls. The Skype IPO looks like a buy.

Free services [freemium] to registered users include instant messaging, file transfer and screen sharing plus voice and video / conference calls to anyone else on Skype.

BlackBerry Ban in UAE and Saudi Arabia

A BlackBerry Ban has been announced for the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia by Oct 11, 2010.

The UAE claims BlackBerry features operate outside the country’s laws causing social and national security concerns.

BlackBerry’s data is encrypted and routed through RIM’s servers overseas meaning it cannot be monitored in Dubai for illegal activity.

Research in Motion said it would not give in to the Arab nation’s demand as they do not disclose details of discussions worldwide so both countries will restrict the use of BlackBerry mobile communication devices in the Middle East.

The BlackBerry ban would inconvenience business travelers and 100,000 foreigners and locals passing daily through the Dubai International Airport.

The UAE BlackBerry ban will also affect roaming services on foreign BlackBerry phones, plus e-mails, instant messaging and internet browsing.
