Müller Time and the Double Winner of both the Golden Boot and Best Young Player award is Thomas Müller of Germany. All praise and glory is yours.

Five-goal scorers Wesley Sneijder and David Villa won the Silver Boot and Bronze Boot. Muller Won Gold as he had the most assists of the three top goal scorers. Well played Gentlemen.

Germany 3 Uruguay 2 wide open High Scoring 3rd place game

Germany took 3rd place honors in the 2010 World Cup over a very talented and competitive Uruguay squad. The final score was Germany 3  Uruguay 2.

This was entertaining and football at its best unlike the ball control style of Spain and mandatory 1-0 matches.

Germany’s rising star Thomas Müller will certainly win an award in South Africa’s 2010 World Cup.

Uruguay captain Diego Forlan is certainly in the running for a top award here too with his many memorable goals.

Excellent tournament for both sides. The German players, other than Klose, are young and their future looks bright.

Who can forget Uruguay and the Hand of Suarez play plus Suarez’ brilliant game winner over South Korea?

Spain Defense Wins the Game shuts down Germany out

Spain has made it to their First World Cup Final. The Spain defense controlled the entire game and shut down the high powered Germany blitzkrieg offense.

Amazingly, Germany never threatened during the entire game.

Congratulations to Espana. They were the better side on that day of the semifinal. The reigning European Champions dismantled a quality Deutschland squad.

The Final should be a good one versus a talented Netherlands squad. Hope to see Holland push the ball up the field unlike Germany vs Spain.

The game winner was scored in the 73rd minute on a set play off a corner kick, by Carles Puyol.

After the game both the German coach and leading scorer Klose admitted that Spain was simply the better team.

Offense gets the Glory, Defense Wins the Game.

Holland Beat Uruguay 3-2 Go to World Cup Finals

Holland has won their semifinal match versus a game Uruguay squad in chilly Cape Town, South Africa.

The Netherlands dynamic duo of  Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder overpowered Uruguay’s captain Diego Forlan. Noticably absent was Luis Suarez, serving his one game suspension for a red card on his ” Hand of Suarez ” play.

Perhaps the best goal of the 2010 World Cup was Giovanni van Bronckhorst in minute 17. His rocket shot from 30 meters just found the opening in the top right net. 

Holland was cruising up 3-1 when in the 91st minute Uruguay scored a second goal, for a very brief time keping their dream alive. but it was Holland’s day and they advance to an all European Final.

We won yet again with the Netherlands as our Lock of the semifinals; having already won our Locks of the 3 group stage games, Round of 16, and Quarterfinals. A perfect 6-0 ATS. Winning’s fun.

Paul the Psychic Octopus predicts Spain over Germany

Paul, the psychic octopus, picked Spain as the winner over Germany in the World Cup semi-final.

The famous mollusk from Oberhausen chose a mussel from a glass tank marked with a Spanish flag, rather than the one with the German flag, indicating a Spanish victory.

The eight-legged oracle has been 100 percent predicting Germany’s World Cup games, including Serbia’s win in the group stage.

And the speed with which Paul the psychic octopus took to prophesize the result means he is pretty sure Spain will win.

David Villa 83rd Minute Goal sends Spain to Semifinals

David Villa’s goal in the 83rd minute was just enough to knock out Paraguay. Spain advances for the first time to the World Cup semifinals.

The road gets much tougher now against the hottest team in the tournament Germany. Looking forward to that match.

Both Spain and Paraguay missed a penalty opportunity each in a hard fought match.

Spain’s leading scorer David Villa capitalized on a rebound chance in the 83rd minute and blasted the winning goal in the net, via the post.

Paraguay had a good run in this World Cup. Spain is in to the semifinals.

Germany Absolutely Crush Argentina 4-0 Men against Boys

This was total domination by Deutschland. Germany just absolutely crushed a previously considered strong team. It was Men against Boys on this day.

Europe is soaring in this World Cup. South America is crumbling. What an embarrassment for the overrated Messi and Argentina.

The only ball boy here is Maradona. 

The German blitzkrieg rolls on to the semifinals. Argentina flies home in disgrace.

Bastian Schweinsteiger was the man of the match. It was a true team win with lots of unselfish passing. Miroslav Klose had 2 goals in this game and now 14 total in World Cup matches.

Germany towered over Argentina literally, physically, skillfully – in all ways.

Congratulations Germany [Deutschland] I can see you in the Finals versus Holland. Well played.

Spain Knocks Out Portugal 1-0 in Defensive Battle

Portugal gave up 1 goal in their entire 4 games in World Cup 2010. That was one goal too many as Spain’s David Villa knocked arch-rival Portugal out of the Cup. 

Cristiano Ronaldo did not perform any magic. Ronaldo, Messi etc, great individual players are not scoring at all. Great teams are scoring  just fine.

Offense gets the glory. Defense wins the game.

Spain survives and lives to fight another day. They luck out playing Paraguay in the quarterfinals. My Lock is Uruguay over Ghana.  While world #1 Brazil battles Holland and Argentina is in a war with Germany who crushed England.

Those two quarterfinal matches would normally be worthy of a World Cup Final. And yes, my Brackets are still perfect in this extremely predictable World Cup. 8-0 in round of 16.
