Breaking from post 19 in front of a record crowd of 165,307 – I’ll Have Another won the 138th Kentucky Derby by 1.5 lengths in a time of 2:01.8
I’ll Have Another will be heading to Pimlico, Maryland for the Preakness Stakes in two weeks for the second leg of horse racings Triple Crown.
I’ll Have Another was ridden by jockey Mario Gutierrez and trained by Doug O’Neill for owner J. Paul Reddam.
$2 win place show bets returned $32.60, $13.80 and $9.00 with the exotics paying: $2 Exacta 19-6 = $306.60
$1 Trifecta 19-6-5 = $1,532.80 and the big one $1 Superfecta 19-6-5-13 = $48,046.40 Not a bad days pay.
