2012 Preakness Stakes race

2012 Preakness Stakes – I’ll Have Another [9] got up in time with a game finish to win the second leg of Horse Racing’s Triple Crown in 1:56.

In a repeat exacta performance of the Kentucky Derby, it was I’ll Have Another to Bodemeister at the 137th running of the Preakness.

$2 exacta 9-7 returned $18.60 on track at Pimlico, Maryland.

He’s no Secretariat, but then who is? It’s off to the Belmont Stakes in 3 weeks for a shot at the elusive Triple Crown.

Best of success. My money’s on Dullahan for the Belmont Stakes at Elmont, New York Sat. June 9. Let’s all make some money.

Kentucky Derby I’ll Have Another

Kentucky Derby 2012 was won by I’ll Have Another who ran down a game Bodemeister and held off the closing kick of Dullahan.

Breaking from post 19 in front of a record crowd of 165,307 – I’ll Have Another won the 138th Kentucky Derby by 1.5 lengths in a time of 2:01.8

I’ll Have Another will be heading to Pimlico, Maryland for the Preakness Stakes in two weeks for the second leg of horse racings Triple Crown.

I’ll Have Another was ridden by jockey Mario Gutierrez and trained by Doug O’Neill for owner J. Paul Reddam.

$2 win place show bets returned $32.60, $13.80 and $9.00 with the exotics paying: $2 Exacta  19-6 = $306.60

$1 Trifecta  19-6-5  = $1,532.80 and the big one $1 Superfecta 19-6-5-13 = $48,046.40  Not a bad days pay.

2011 Kentucky Derby Animal Kingdom

2011 Kentucky Derby was won by Animal Kingdom, ridden by John Velazquez, trained by Graham Motion and owned by Team Valor who pocketed $1,411,800 first place prize money.

D. Wayne Lukas was raving about how well Animal Kingdom was looking on his morning workouts. Was he ever correct.

A record live crowd of 164,858 packed Churchill Downs in Lexington, Kentucky for the 137th run for the roses.

20-1 longshot Animal Kingdom [16] returned $43.80 for every $2 win bet and with second choice Nehro [19] running second, the exacta 16-19 paid a lovely $329.80

The trifecta, including Mucho Macho Man [13] in third place 16-19-13 paid $3,952.40 and the superfecta with Shackleford [14] 16-19-13-14 paid $48,126. Big numbers all around. Good Day.
