Oscar nominations for the 84th Academy Awards on Feb. 26 were announced today by Academy President Tom Sherak and Oscar nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence.
Childrens film “Hugo” received 11 Oscar nominations, the most of any movie this year, including for Best Picture and Best Director.
Nearly silent film, The Artist was next with 10 Oscar nominations.
Hugo, The Artist and The Descendants are expected to win awards on Feb. 26 in Hollywood, California.
Sony Pictures was the most Oscar nominated studio with 21 Oscar nominations. 6 were for the Scott Rudin and Brad Pitt movie Moneyball.
Paramount Studios had 18 nominations dominated by the 11 for Hugo while the Weinstein Co. received 16 nominations, 10 of which were for The Artist.
