6.8 Earthquake hits Japan according to the Japanese Meteorological Agency. Epicenter was, near Hokkaido, in the northeastern region of the Country.
Another 6.1 magnitude quake rocked just off the coast of Chiba, east of Tokyo, only 9 miles below the sea surface.
This comes just days after the one year anniversary of the 3-11 monster 9.0 magnitude Japan earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown that killed 19,000 people.
Unlike one year and 3 days ago however, there were no immediate reports of damage or tsunami warnings.

The magnitude 8.8 earthquake in Chile was so powerful that it may have shortened the length of the day by 1.26 microseconds and moved the Earth’s figure axis by 8 cm or 2.7 milliarcseconds. The largest earthquake in recent times, a massive 90 second quake on Feb 27 in Chile, generated a blackout that affected 93 percent of the country.
Chile’s 8.8 earthquake moved the entire city of Concepción 3.04 metres or 10 feet to the west. The capital Santiago shifted almost 24 centimetres or 10 inches west. Chile’s territory could have expanded 1.2 km² as a result.
